How long does each therapy session take?

Therapy Sessions are approximately 45 minutes to an hour depending on the and the situation and acuity assessed by the clinician and needs of the client.

This office requires 24 hours notice for cancellation from the appointment time.  If you don't call to cancel within 24 hours before your appointment start time, you will be charged at 50% of the session rate which will need to be paid before the start of the next session.

What if I need to cancel an appointment?

Appointment cancellations require 24-hour advance notice. Failure to cancel your appointment or late (less than 24 hour notice) cancellation will be charged half of the clinician's rate which will need to be paid prior to your next appointment and a pattern of doing so may result in a "failure to comply" discharge from the practice. You can cancel, change or reschedule your appointment through the secure Patient Portal or you can call 817-745-4575 to up to 24 hours in advance of your appointment with no charge to your account.

Reminder calls and texts are a courtesy service and should not be depended upon.  ***Please note clinician cancellations are seldom, but sometimes necessary.  This is a standard practice with most healthcare facilities and ensures that we are able to schedule and accommodate all of our clients who need appointments and to adhere to contractual Insurance and Federal guidelines for intake referrals.

What is your late cancellation or "no-show" policy?

What do I do after hours if I am in Crisis?

Contact 911 or go to your nearest emergency room.  The Tarrant county mental health crisis line 1-800-866-2465 or  817-335-3022 may be able to help as well and Tarrant county has a mobile mental health crisis response team.   What constitutes a crisis?  If the patient is suicidal or in immediate danger of hurting someone, or if you have a medical health emergency.

Once your immediate crisis has been resolved,  call the office to schedule an interim appointment if availability allows.

How do I Use the Patient Portal?

You can use the patient portal to schedule ongoing appointments and to make payments if you choose. This is certainly not required, but will save you time to focus on your therapy during your appointment vs. dealing with logistical and administrative matters.

At the initial phone consultation Aileen will gather the information necessary to allow you further access to scheduling and access to our secure patient portal.  An email will be sent to you with an access code for future use to schedule appointments and access your schedule.

All of the necessary forms, consents and documents are available through the patient portal and will be sent to you via email to save time or provided to you at your first appointment.   There is some paperwork involved in the process, but if you have questions Aileen can assist you, call or email.

How often you will be seen will be discussed with your therapist at the initial appointment and you will be able to schedule out several months in advance if you choose - either through the portal or in person.  If a time is showing "appointment available" you will be able to click on that day and time slot to send your request to the clinician.  The clinician will notify you if it has been approved or rejected.   If it is approved an appointment reminder will be sent to you via text or email (your choice) by our automated system - 48 hours prior to your appointment.  This is provided as a courtesy, please do not rely on this alone to remember your appointments.

What do I bring with me to the Initial Appointment?

You will be emailed initial paperwork and consent documents after you provide your email address through our secure site.  This will speed up the Intake process and you can save these documents in the patient portal, or print them out and bring them with you if you prefer.

Please bring your insurance card and driver's license or picture ID with you to your initial appointment.

For children with a custody arrangement between two caregivers, a copy of the custody legal paperwork or divorce decree is required before the child can be seen in the office.

This is to ensure that proper legal consent is given and protocol is followed.

If you wish to bring a copy of any recent past Psychological Evaluations or discharge instructions, or your child's school IEP, Special Education or 504 documents if applicable, these can sometimes be very helpful additions in formulating a comprehensive treatment plan.
